A happy occasion

It was 24th May, 11pm on a Sat and we unexpectedly remember that we have a Malay wedding to attend tomorrow afternoon. Oh my god, I realized that I do not have the address as I did not receive their invitation card, it was just a sms notification. Therefore, I was determined to wake up early next morning to make sure I message the bride to be on the venue. Frankly speaking, I felt bad doing that, thinking that it will definitely be a busy day for her.

My alarm sounded at 9am and I promptly sms her. Marvelously, her reply was instant. I went back to bed as the wedding will commence in only at noon. No long after, the noon sun was shining fiercely and I know it’s really time for me to lift my butt off the bed. I literally “kick” my baby out of bed to wake him up.

Within minutes, and that was about 50 minutes, we were ready to leave home. We took a bus, luckily it is in Sengkang too, and thus the journey was only 15 minutes. The sun was scorching hot, I can feel it “eating” into my skin. But not forgetting that we need to take a picture..haha…When wereached the venue, the first thing on my mind…was food, I was really hungry. .haha.

As the bride and groom have yet to arrive, we “tucked in” first. The food was “ok” but it was really humid and warm. I can feel that my make up is melting.

It was a totally new experience for baby and me, forgot to mention, this bride of us was our secondary school friend. We were not really close with her, were surprised that we were invited.

The bride march in first and very slowly, she was stunning….Not long after, came the groom, he was lead to sit on a chair and the group of “drummers”(those that strike on the drums), one by one perform a Malay dance for him while he was seated down. It seems to me that the groom was the king on that very day and the dancers were offering their blessing by dancing. I looked like a mountain tortoise, haha, this is the first time I have seen this. After which, before the groom was allowed to enter into the hall, there were a group of people demanding “$$” from him, just like what we have for our Chinese culture. After the “$$- handling” session, he was then allow to move in.

It was photo-taking session and chatting session with some of our old friends that were there. Feel really happy for this couple, it reminds me of the time when I was engaged with my hubby. Happy ever after..

After 2 hours, we know it’s time to go. I was really exhausted. Upon reaching home, I remove my make up and went to take afternoon nap till the sun set at 7pm. I know I am a minute nearly to MONDAY!

ps...more photos to share, wait till I get home.
